Dan Berube, who posts as JungleBellCat and is sometimes referred to as JBC, is one of the more interesting personalities in Elite history. His most famous accomplishment was tying the Goldeneye World Record for Dam Agent with a :53, a claim that infuriated Wouter Jansen during the many years that it remained unproven. Dan's credibility throughout the process was damaged by his relationship with good friend Tyler Probert, who had enjoyed a rocky Elite history of his own, to say the least. The two were so close, in fact, that Dan was often accused of being a Tyler alt during this period.
On the Elite message boards, Dan is infamous for asking a pressing question in one of his more classic topic titles: "Remember when the Elite used to be cool?" The only text of his response ("I don't.") pretty well sums up his lifelong relationship with the community.
