Wes McKinney
Wes McKinney is one of the main reasons that The Elite has evolved into what it is over the past decade.
Though it was not Wes himself who started the earliest version of the World Goldeneye Rankings, he did take control of the ranks all the way back in 1998, and updated them (completely on his own and completely by hand) until 2001. And he was no slouch at the game itself either, becoming the younger counterpart to the great Sterling Neblett for over two years (he climbed all the way into 2nd place, as a 13 year old), before the arrival of Wouter Jansen. He was also the first to really take proving times seriously, as he was a vid-crazy player, always getting new files up when he could.
Wes has withdrawn himself from the Elite in the past few years to throw himself into his studies, which certainly paid off. In 2007, he graduated from the highly prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a degree in Mathematics.
