Jonathan Steel is a former Mario Kart: Double Dash!! world champion, for a cumulative total of 237 days. In late 2004, he started playing all the tracks in order, getting 1st or 2nd place times in almost every track. In November 2004 he became world champion, and then built up a strong lead over 2nd place. In March 2005 he became the first player to reach God in MKDD (by the old standards). In his prime, he held over 20 of the 32 WRs. When new talents were emerging, he lost and reclaimed the title a few times in mid-2005, and finally lost it for the last time in September 2005. A few months later he retired from MKDD. He is currently ranked 7th.

Jonathan was a former times updater for the MKDD site, and his updates were prompt and accurate. He used to be an active forum poster, but deleted his account and all his posts when he retired.
