Nicola Torre
Nicola Torre is an Italian Mario Kart player, born 23th August 1994.
Nice! Tell me something about his story plz.
He started playing Mario Kart when he was 9, playing Mario Kart Super Circuit and Mario Kart Double Dash!!. When Mario Kart DS came out in Europe, he decided to start time trialing in it together with his friends Fabio Sacco, Iacopo Sorce and Ludovico Vittorio.
He has been a mid-level player for much time, even if he got a WR in the first months (Baby Park fast lap; he was the first to sub 8"400). When he decided to spend a lot of his free time on time trialing at the start of 2007, he quickly climbed up the charts, getting in top 10 at the start of 2008. After that strong period, he didn't play as much as before because meanwhile he started to attend a school that takes more than 1 minute each day of homework, but he still managed to get good PRs to keep his position. He has made a quick comeback in August 2009, getting many Top 10 PRs. He is currently ranked #13.
Nicola has also played competetively other Mario Karts; he has reached Top 100 in Mario Kart 64, being one of the first competitive players to play using the Virtual Console's game version. He has expressed an interest in joining Super Mario Kart Time Trials in the future, when it will be released on the Virtual Console in Europe; he has played Mario Kart Super Circuit, Mario Kart Double Dash!! and Mario Kart Wii, but he never tried to play them competitively, except for a very few tracks (he managed to hit a Non-Glitch WR on Mario Kart Super Circuit).
Other than karting, he is also a well-known poster on the Message Board, and he often visits IRC chan #mariokart.
Other things
- He was one of the youngest MK players ever to get a WR (when he got his MKDS WR, he was 11).
- He went in the same class of Ludovico Vittorio, which is also Iacopo Sorce's brother. Now they are in separate schools.
- He is the self-proclaimed King of MKDS Kiddies.
- He eats pasta 15 times a day, probably because that's what Italians use to do.
- His favourite karting enemy is Fabio Sacco: they've been playing WiFi since MKDS came out, and they've been battling since then. No matter who wins, the important thing is item owning each other: starramming is always welcome.
