Joe Bernier

Joe Bernier bursted onto the Super Mario Kart scene in April of 2005. With his lightning fast reflexes, he was able to use New Boosting Techniques very early in his career, launching him into the top 10 within a couple months. By June of 2005, he had already achieved his first World Record at Donut Plains 1. By the end of the summer of 2005, he was in contention for the NTSC World Championship, a title he would eventually gain and hold until the end of 2005.

Career highlights:

  • Obtaining 11 World Records in one week of playing
  • Becoming GOD overall within one month of joining the NTSC rankings (old SR score system)
  • Breaking several barriers on many tracks, including the 47"00 barrier on KB1, and the 1'26"00 barrier on MC3
  • Becoming NTSC World Champion in September of 2005
  • Named Super Mario Kart Player of the Year in 2005
  • Obtaining the third Myth + time (new system) in SMK history, with a 1'03"04 on CI1

Contrary to popular belief he is not related to Jonathon Bernier of Mario Kart 64 fame.
