'''Karel van Duijvenboden''' is a [[Super Mario Kart]] player, an active forum poster (where he currently goes by "KVD"), and a news updater on the SMK [[MK Terminology|non-NBT]] site. He is the reigning [[Time Trial ]] World Champion for both the [[NTSC]] & [[PAL]] version. Furthermore, he won the SMK POY award in 2004, and his [[SMK]] skills have earned him the nickname "SMK machine". He is also one of the best at non-NBT, where he is ranked 2nd in [[PAL]].
Karel also enjoy playing other games such as Pro Evolution Soccer, F-Zero X (current World rank #87), [[Mario Kart Super Circuit]] (current world rank #19) and Grand Theft Auto series.
In professional life Karel studies Medical Cell Biology at the University of Leiden and is currently in the final year of his Masters.
