Marc Rützou
Introduction
Marc "InkosiDeVinyl" Rützou (Full name: Marc Aagaard Rützou) (better known as Inky) Born 1992, from Denmark (English/East European father, Danish mother), is an Eliter and who is best known for getting an untied world record on Aztec before he even beat any of the other 19 levels in Goldeneye and is one of the most talented gamers.
Early Life
Other than being average in school, playing a lot of soccer, playing outside in general wich the average kid usually do, Marc was also known for his insane gaming skills and anyone who dared challenge him, usually had to face the lost. There was already some trace of speedrunning in Marc's early life when he mainly played Goldeneye, Super Mario 64, Turok and Tekken. He would see how fast he could get 70 stars and then try to improve it even more. After trying out a lot of Turok, he managed to beat it in a single day. However, his most memorable days of gaming was probably Turok 2. Marc always loved a good challenge so it didn't get any better than this. Marc joined a gaming club at his school when he was in 4th. grade, playing Tekken mostly. He went to win a lot of tournaments and even participated in a Danish Tekken 4 tournament at the age of 9 and made it to a nice 4th. place.
Introduction To The Elite
In many years he was quite unactive as for what gaming goes, but it wasn't until the age of 16 Marc discovered The Elite by an accident. He heard about the new SM64 glitch wich allowed you to finnish the game with only 16 stars. Through SM64.com he found Ilari Pekkala and soon discovered his DLTK videos on Youtube. Watching the Facility world record without being impressed at all, he immediately became interested in Goldeneye speedrunning. He said to Eddie Lovins wich had the untied world record of 1:47, that he would cake his time. For Eddie this was just another Youtube noob, but Marc told he got 1:58 and Eddie kindly convinced him to join The Elite. This took place somewhere in April/May 2009. Marc didn't really have any ambitions in the Normal League as he thought he wasn't good enough.
The Beginning And Proof Controversy
After a lot of hours invested, Marc tied Eddie Lovins with Facility DLTK 1:47. (He later untied it with 1:44 and pushed it down a second more to 1:43) He tried out Normal mode and to his suprise, quickly achieved decent times such as Dam Agent 0:54, Dam SA 1:19, Facility Agent 0:48, Bunker 1 Agent 0:18, Silo Agent 1:09, Depot Agent 0:26 and Aztec Agent 1:34 wich he got first try in a session. However, there was a small debate going on the boards, if Marc was a legit person and doubted his times where actually real as he hasn't provided any proof. Marc had taped almost all his times though, but haven't found a way to get them online. He finally borrowed a good digcam and provided proof for his times 30. July 2009, one day before the Swedish Goldeneye meeting 2009 was going to take place.
Swedish Goldeneye Meeting 2009
Without almost no practice in multi except playing Bunker 2 a little, Marc Participated in the Swedish meeting wich lasted from 31. July - 2. August where he met Ilari Pekkala, Miika Pekkala, Eise Smit, Trent Hovis, Patrik Nilsson, Axel Zakrisson and Henning Blom. He played against Henning in the first round and lost 10-9 in the 3rd. and final match in Archives and lost to Ilari Pekkala in a 3rd. match aswell 10-6, wich also was in Archives. The 2nd. match between them both was Bunker 2 and Marc won them both. Marc duped Silo Agent 1:09 at the meeting and tried a lot of Aztec Agent aswell. Having problems with the glass door on NTSC and having some deaths, Marc didn't succeed to lower his 1:34.
Aztec Domination
Shortly after the Swedish meeting, Marc finally got Aztec Agent 1:32. Being very unsatisfied with the run, after few hours of contribution, he achieved Aztec Agent 1:31 as a world record. Even though 1:31 took him a short amount of time, going from 1:34 to 1:32 still took over 70 hours. 5 days later, David Clemens (The current Goldeneye champion) told him about a little new timesaver and the very same day, Marc achieved Aztec Agent 1:30 as an untied world record. Clemens tied it the next day. He eventually got SA 1:38 and 00A 1:43 very quickly. He later tied Aztec SA 1:36, wich used to be a 2 seconds untied by Clemens. Today, Marc stands as 2nd. on the Aztec leaderboards and is planning to hit his second untied very soon. (Aztec Secret Agent 1:35)
Further Improvement And NTSC Arrives
Marc Decided to push it to the next level and played for even better times. Still only having access to a ((PAL)) system, he achieved times such as Bunker 1 DLTK 2:06, Dam SA 1:18, Silo Agent 1:04, Bunker 2 SA 0:52, Jungle Agent 0:52 and Caverns Agent 1:02 wich was a world record and a PAL untied. Marc ordered a NTSC copy of Goldeneye and immediately achieved Dam 0:53/1:17/1:59 when it arrived. Marc who was whelming with confidence at this moment, pushed his gaming to the next level wich would proof he is among the best GE player in the world.
Following Activity
He achieved such times as Jungle Agent 0:51, Bunker 2 Agent 0:24, Bunker 2 SA 0:47, Silo Agent 1:02, Silo SA 1:11, Control Agent 3:59, Facility Agent 0:45, Dam 00A 1:58 and tied Ilari with Jungle SA 0:54 and Rayan Isran with Jungle 00A 0:55 wich makes Marc a very dangerous player and Marc himself is confident, that he is a threat to Bryan Bosshardt who is currently ranked 3rd. He then Achieved what would be his greatest time so far, Aztec Secret Agent 1:35 as his 2nd. untied world record.
Perfect Dark
While playing a lot of Goldeneye in the year 2009/2010, Marc also speedrunned Perfect Dark on the PAL system just for fun to begin with, but has played more seriously in 2010. Some of his best times achieved was Villa Agent 1:12, Attack Ship Agent 2:11, Escape Agent 2:29 (Later 2:26 and 2:25), Escape Special Agent 3:23, Chicago Agent 0:16 and recently achieved Investigation Special Agent 2:15, Escape Agent 2:24 (Untied PAL record), Escape Special Agent 3:20, Rescue Agent 1:29, Rescue Special Agent 3:23, Villa Agent 1:11 and Villa Special Agent 1:22 in a very short time.
Personal Life
Marc still plays soccer occasionally, loves watching sports such as World Cup and Euro Cup in Soccer, Handball, Boxing and athletics and has a small scale interest in Astrology and Relegion. Marc is starting in school again after summer, but will guaranteed be playing GE/PD whenever he can. Some of his life goals are to live and work in South Europe, learn Spanish and sweeping Aztec, Jungle and achieving Dam 00A 1:57, Silo SA 1:09, Bunker 2 SA 0:46, Train Agent 1:01, Control Agent 3:58, Aztec Secret Agent 1:33 and DAM SECRET AGENT 1:16 wich he once thought himself was humanly impossible. Even though Marc has a hard time beleiving that he will actually achieve this time, he keeps playing it. Marc Also plans to change his first name when he turns 18.
Music and Films
Marc has a very wide music taste. He mainly listens to Deep Purple, Rainbow, GZA The Genius, Rakim and various other Hip Hop artists. He also has a love for Latin Jazz music and old school House. Marc is mainly into the movie genres Martial Arts, Gangster films, Spaghetti Westerns and Animated Disney Movies. He likes Way Of the Dragon, The Good, The Bad And The Ugly, Pulp Fiction, but his absolute favorite movies are Scarface and the animated Disney film from 1983, The Fox And The Hound and wishes to get a tatoo from something in the movie. Some would think that this is a very wierd combination of movie taste.
Games
Other than speedrunning Goldeneye and Perfect Dark, Marc has a small interest in speedrunning Super Mario 64 and the Turok series aswell. Some games that Marc can be considered a fan of is Donkey Kong 64, Mario Kart 64, Killer Instinct Gold, Diddy Kong Racing, Turok 2 - Seeds Of Evil, Hitman 2 Silent Assassin and Grand Theft Auto Vice City.
