Phil "octoinky" McCanna has many accomplishments under his belt in The Elite and Mario Kart communities.

Introduction

Phil "octo" McCanna was one of the first members of the-elite, and today is an active member of the chat community as well as various gaming communities. Octo is primarily known for achievements in Perfect Dark multiplayer, MarioKart 64 and Guitar Hero III. Phil currently does administrative work with the-elite.net as the updater for the Perfect Dark Elite and Goldeneye Elite.

Gaming Accomplishments

Mario Kart 64

Phil devoted Summer 2005 to MarioKart 64, where he made a name for himself as one of the fastest players ever to reach Legend C. With multiple god times and a current ARR of 3.219, Octo sits just outside of the top 50 in average finish and ARR, despite only playing competitively for 2 months.

Guitar Hero III

Octo's strongest game is Guitar Hero III. Extending his experience from electric guitar to the videogame, Phil was able to rise to a peak rank of 21st on the Wii platform and 160th overall at ScoreHero, currently with over 10,000 competitors. Phil has perfected 44 out of 70 songs, and has achieved the highest rating, 5 stars, on all 70 tracks.

Perfect Dark

Phil's efforts in Perfect Dark were focused nearly entirely in multiplayer. Octo was the second player behind Paragon to beat Challenge 30 on the 3 player setting without a second or third player. Octo also shutout Challenge 30 on the 2-player setting with Ricky "infil" Pusch, and reached the level 3:Invincible without any stat boosting.

Octo's only point-scoring time is 1:15 on Streets A. Other than this, Octo hasn't put considerable effort into speedrunning GE.

Majora's Mask

Phil McCanna created the Majora's Mask rankings, now taken over by N64HS, and competed with moderate success with about 2 dozen other elite members across multiple minigames and sidequests available.
