The 2006 Elite Summer Contest was known as The Everyone is Equal Edition. 2006 differed from the previous three Elite Summer Contests in that:

  • Contestants were not ranked by seeds.
  • The Former Champions were back.
  • Randomly-placed matchups disallowed vote rallying.

The Contest kicked off at midnight EST on Thursday, June 1st of 2006. To vote, Eliters sent the name of their daily choice to Ngamer over AOL Instant Messenger at ImNgamer, or mailed their choice to ngamer AT gmail DOT com. To be eligible to vote, one of three conditions had to be met:

The 2006 Elite Summer Contest was won by Derek Clark, who defeated Shade by 54 votes to 53 in the final match.

Derek is the first and only person to have won two Elite Summer Contests, having also won in 2004.
