2005 Elite Summer Contest
The 2005 Elite Summer Contest was known as The Wide Open Edition. 2005 differed from the previous two Elite Summer Contests in that the previous Champions (Ngamer & Snap who tied in '03, and Clark from '04) were removed into a Champion's Bracket.
The Contest kicked off at midnight EST on Wednesday, June 1st of 2005. To vote, Eliters sent the name of their daily choice to Ngamer over AOL Instant Messenger at ImNgamer, or mailed their choice to ngamer AT gmail DOT com. To be eligible to vote, one of three conditions had to be met:
- Membership in the Goldeneye or Perfect Dark Elites.
- 100 posts on The Elite message boards.
- 20 hours logged in The Elite Chatroom.

The 2005 Elite Summer Contest was won by Shade, who defeated Matthijs ten Ham 51 votes to 50 in the final match. In the ToC, Ngamer defeated Shade while Clark got by Snap, setting up a Barber/Clark rematch that Ngamer won, 57-30.
