Cara will make you feel the love

Hugo (better known as Cara) has been a member of The Elite since 2005. Besides being an active chatter in the Elite Chatroom, Cara is a moderator on the Perfect Dark Boards, the updater of the Co-op Rankings and a PD proof moderator. He helps out a variety of Eliters with his skills as a musician, such as editing The DK and Comet Show and Producing the Legendary Sportsrap performed by Alecboy. Hugo is ranked inside the top 25 of Perfect Dark and currently holds 5 tied World Records.

Personal Life

Hugo was born and raised in The Netherlands, and now lives in Haarlem, which is really close to Amsterdam. Besides still being a student, Hugo is making his first steps as a professional musician, being signed as a songwriter and producer. Together with one of his best friends, he has created the music duo 'Audioknights' and they already finished writing their first album.* [1]

Joining "The Elite"

After observing the Elite since 2001, Hugo first decided to join The Elite in April 2005 as Hugo Boss. Inspired by Marshmallows amazing times back then, Hugo started speedrunning himself. In October 2006 he changed his screenname to Carathorn, and he still has yet to figure out what the name means or where it comes from!

Despite having played Perfect Dark since the release of the game, initially Hugo was ranked relatively lowly since he had not played Perfect Agent yet. His Agent and Special Agent times were decent however.

Getting to the Top 100

In September 2006 Hugo decided to improve some of his 20+ minutes PA times, as the only way to really improve in the Perfect Dark rankings was to play this difficulty. By the time all these 'disasters-times' were gone, he had managed to get into the Top 100 time rankings, the final time cut coming by completing Maian SOS PA 2:45 on November 9th 2006. Almost 4 months later, on March 7th 2007, Hugo managed to get into the Top 100 in points as well.

2007 Onward

In August 2007, Hugo received the NTSC version of Perfect Dark and got 14 PRs in the next 2 days. He has steadily gained rankings ever since and on the 29th of February 2008 announced an unhoard of 17 PRs. With this he cut off 4 minutes of his Total Time and gained more than 700 points. Many of his times have come on so called Perfect Dark Nights with Red Bull. Highlights include WAR! Agent 0:26 and Villa Agent 1:10.

As of now, Hugo is ranked 22th in Points and 23rd in Time on the Perfect Dark Rankings and climbing! He holds 5 World Records as of now, with his latest Chicago Agent 0:15 achieved on February 29th 2008.

Contributions

Hugo played online poker together with Red Bull, in order to win money so they could buy Rayan Isran his NTSC console and PD Cartridge. Rayan was ranked 3rd at that time, and they decided to give him this present as he, according to Cara and Bully, "deserved because of his great talent". Some reaction from The Elite were:

In December 2007, Rayan received his NTSC Console shipped all the way from USA to Pakistan, and quickly became the new Champion with an amazing lead.

Other Activities

Hugo has been updating the Co-op Rankings for several years now. Apart from that, he is a moderator on the Perfect Dark Forum. He gladly participates in Elite activities such as First Vote, KotH, The DK & Comet Show, etc. Anything as long as it doesn't involve POKER PREDS MYBRUTE UFC NFL NHL.

Other Games

Hugo is not only skilled at Perfect Dark, but is a top player in almost every game he plays seriously. For example, he has made some awesome movies of Super Monkey Ball, which can still be found at the SMB Theatre.
