Spirit Temple (young Link)

The Spirit Temple is the eighth dungeon in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, although it is often completed out of order. The Spirit Temple is divided into two large sections; young Link must complete half of it and obtain the Silver Gauntlets before adult Link can enter his section.

Speed guide

Make sure you say the right things to Nabooru or you'll lose a lot of time to pointless dialogue.

After crawling through the first hole be sure to start running before the lazy camera catches up.

Go through the right-hand door and cast Din's Fire (at the point you came in is fine) to trigger the far Small Key chest. Go back through the door you came in via and set a warp point.

Go through the other door and beat the Stalfos - try stunning him, or walking him into the chasm if you can. Boomerang the switch and go across. You can get a Deku Shield from the chest if yours has been burnt. Don't equip it, though, as you don't need it yet and there are flaming bats ahead.

Use Din's Fire again to take out the Anubis and get back to the first room again. Collect Small Key #1 from the chest and warp back to your warp point.

Crawl through the tunnel. The crate on the right here has bombs, if you think you need more for the next bit. Unlock the locked door, and ascend.

You can shoot the switch, get Bombchus from the crate thus triggered and use them to open the rocks if you want, but it's pretty easy to just lob a carefully-timed bomb at the rocks instead. Disregard the lizard.

Don't bother with the silver rupees in this room. Go left and bomb the Beamos, then cast Din's Fire to light the torch nearest the door you entered by. Carry this flame to the torch near the exit and around to the third torch near the other corner. That'll trigger the chest. You're now near the blocks. Pull the sun face into the light to unlock the door. Jump on the blocks to cross the wall and go get Small Key #2 from the chest. Finally, exit.

Unlock the next door and use what is probably your only remaining Deku Stick on the Iron Knuckle. After that, Power Crouch Stabs can take him down if you are feeling brave - crouched, child Link is too short to be hit by the horizontal axe swings.

Grab the Silver Gauntlets and you're done.
