Baron Samedi: Positions after spawning
As you've probably noticed, the baron doesn't always stay in the middle of his explosion (2nd spawn), but rather a bit to the right, allowing us to shoot him from an optimal position far away. However, this isn't always the case, sometimes he's on the left side, and sometimes he doesn't move at all. So what determines his position? The answer is simple and probably already known by many poeple:

If you've ever walked up to the baron shortly after him spawning, you'll notice that he constantly tries to face Bond. Exactly like Valentin/Miskin does. So it's actually possible to Val-strafe him around for a few seconds before his evil laugh.

Since he spawns facing the opposite direction of where Bond usually is on wr runs, he needs to walk around in a half-circle to face Bond. And this brings him either to the left or the right. So him being to the left or the right simply depends on if Bond is to the Baron's left or right, since he uses the shortest path he can find to face Bond.

But what about the 3rd Baron? Why isn't he standing more to the left sometimes allowing us to hit him from further away? Well, he is already facing towards Bond and therefor won't do the half-circle movement. There is another fact preventing this as well, which is less obvious. If you don't have a direct line of sight to the baron (pillars are fine to have in the way, but not walls), the baron won't move. He'll stay still in the middle of the explosion without turning to face Bond (actually he "teleports" to the right angle). So on normal wr runs, unless you got an uber-slow death, you won't be able to see the 3rd Baron spawn and therefor he won't move.

World Record - 0:44
+
The 2nd Baron spawns facing in the opposite direction of where Bond usually is on wr runs, so he needs to walk around in a half-circle to face Bond. By being to the right of him when he spawns, he will turn to the right since that's the shorter angle to turn through.

Target Time - 0:46
+
Note that the Baron will just spin instantly without walking if he is unloaded, so you must also be looking towards that area when the 2nd Baron spawns. The 3rd Baron will always be unloaded unless you get a bad 2nd Baron death animation, and so this only applies to Baron #2.

NOTE: if you can master Control Style 2.x, use it on this level. You may also want to use the recent time saver found by Henrik Norgren: after picking up the Golden Gun, open the two doors and crouch while opening the 2nd door, then quickly uncrouch to warp through the door (saves a few tenths).

The Golden Gun Room
Retrieving the Golden Gun requires navigating a floor maze, though this has been slightly sidestepped by a consistent tile warp.

Begin in left strafe, looking at a normal plane (lookdown doesn't help on this level). Strafe towards the GG room, and make sure not to lag on the pillar behind you as you do. Also, don't strafe into the wall so much by the GG room door, and try to open it far away. Strafe into the center of the door (so you don't get stuck on it when it opens), and take the correct path through the GG room (assuming you know it by heart already) as tightly as possible. Don't look down here since it lags more. When you pick up the Ammo, you can either switch to right strafe or stay in left, it doesn't make a difference really although some players have an easier time switching to right since it gives you a nice angle to open the next door and then switch to left strafe to pick the GG up. If you stayed in left, open the door, switch to right strafe (you probably want to lose full speed here, since turning back around is very hard if you kept full speed), then turn around and open the next door.
+
The triggers in the GG room are spheres, centred on points on the floor. When Bond is moving at speed he dips slightly, and so the circles that he can't enter are slightly larger. These are shown in the diagrams on the right.

For the first Baron, align the center of the screen with around the left side of the pillar, and veer downwards just a little bit. The idea here is to shoot the first Baron as early as you possibly can, though it does not have to be frame perfect. If you miss him, quit out.
+
Naively, stepping inside any of the circles except the green one triggers the drone guns and you've failed the room. Stepping in the green one opens the glass container and you've succeeded. They have clearly been laid out with the intention of leaving a path of square tiles for the player to find.

Strafe towards the left and, as quickly as possible, face towards where the 2nd Baron appears. Stand between the two pillars closest to the wall, and if you don't see the explosion right after you arrive that means the first Baron died a bad death, and you more than likely wont have any chance at 0:46 (though can easily get 0:47). If it doesn't appear within a second of arriving or so, just quit out unless you want a time around 0:48 (kneeling death first Baron).
+
The 4 cycles
 +
However the spheres are actually in 4 groups which are coloured Black, Red, Orange and Purple on the right. Each is only active for 1 in 4 frames - they cycle in that order.

Wait till the explosion fades, and just as it is about to fade run forward. Right as you are about to go between the two pillars on the opposite side of the room, shoot the 2nd Baron. Do not wait until you are actually between them. Try to aim just to the right of the far pillar that covers part of the explosion. Now strafe to the right and towards the secret door to the last Baron. As the screen darkens if you killed the 2nd baron successfully, you will see it. Open it up as far away as you can, and strafe past it, turn around and nicely enter the hole. If you strafe into the hole right away, theres a good chance you will get stuck on it and lose any chance at 0:46.
+
On top of this, the cycling doesn't start until you clear the end of the entrance corridor into the room proper. This coupled with a stable 30hz framerate on NTSC creates the perfect environment to set up a consistent warp.

For the last Baron, aim at or just below the normal plane of view. As you approach the corner, try to switch to left strafe and hug the wall as much as possible when you turn, as you want to take a very tight turn for 0:46. Just as the center of the screen is aiming at the center of the cloud of smoke, shoot your GG and hope it hits the last Baron.
+
Re-entry
 +
If you fail the room, you don't have to redo it from entrance. Instead, nip out into the big room with the 1st Baron, then quickly walk back again (don't fall down), duck, and re-enter the GG room by walking under the closing inner door. Then you can easily enter the Green circle to open the glass box.
 +

At first the last Baron will seem like mostly luck, but you will learn later there is indeed a lot of skill to it. Agent is a lot easier, since all you need for the 3rd Baron is a body shot (unlike SA/00A where you NEED a head shot).
+
Tile warp
 +
The consistent tile warp was revealed in TASpap, and involves taking an indirect line from the end of the entrance corridor up to the 1st 'wall' of triggers. This is pictured on the right, with Bond in green.

If you hit him (or even if you didn't, actually), strafe to the left and towards the stairway. If the screen fades around the middle of the stairs, you got a good death and have a good shot at 0:46. If you missed him, quit at the middle of the stairs and if you quit out a 0:48, you were at 0:46 pace. If it fades at the bottom, you won't have any chance. Best deaths don't happen very often, so for that reason 0:46 may take a while, but keep at it even if you keep getting bad deaths right at the end. Good luck!
+
This line wastes about 1 frame (1/30th of a second) in order to be just outside of the purple circle when it is active. Then you have 4 frames to clear the circle before it activates again. The lag spike from switching weapons makes one of these 4 frames much longer, making it far easier to clear the circle, though it can technically be done without.

+
The other secret is to turn left (around the black circle), since this gives you shorter route out of the purple circle and puts you on a better line when you leave.

Further warps
 +
The line after this first tile warp is pretty direct to the trigger circle, but hypothetically you could warp the 3rd 'wall' right before the Green success trigger, as Icy does in his Egypt Agent 0:41 TAS. On emulator the framerate fluctuates between 60 and 30fps, and the lag from weapon switches is far greater so the tile warps become a lot easier.

World Record - 0:45

It's unknown which cycle the room will be on when a player reaches the 3rd 'wall' on console, but a warp through the left-most orange circle could be viable. That said the timesave would be minimal, since the line around the left of the 3rd 'wall' is still pretty direct and sets up the turn around the ammo & gun.

Being the last level and all, Egypt sure disappoints difficulty-wise. It is extremely easy beating the level by doing the mission objectives in the opposite order (kill all Barons, then go for the Golden Gun). This strat won't get you the WR, though.

This level might be hard to get a completion on. It is probably very hard for rookies as it requires fast and good aiming. The 3rd Baron is particularly problematic given his high health and range of animations, notably rolling.
+
DLTK
Whilst the traditional 3rd Baron method is most prevalent and best for a strong time, there are two variant strategies. The 'safer' method involves reducing the 2nd Baron's health, and luring him to the final room. Given the Baron then spawns in the same room, Bond can hide behind the Obelisk and shoot whilst remaining unseen, negating his meddlesome animations. The world record, however makes use of the Frozen Baron Glitch, wherein the final Baron is stuck in place, unable to move or shoot.

Egypt (Part i of Mission 9: el-Saghira) is the twentieth and final level in GoldenEye 007. The Dot strat is often used on this level. The level is the same across the standard difficulties, except that the later Barons require different body part hits to die to one bullet. The level is bottlenecked by the 1st and 3rd Baron's Death Animations.

Objectives

a. Recover the golden gun
From the Golden gun room, see below.
b. Defeat Baron Samedi?
Each of the 3 incarnations of the Baron must be killed, with his health increasing each time.

Baron Samedi: Positions after spawning

After each spawn, the Baron constantly faces Bond, much like Valentin/Miskin does.

The 2nd Baron spawns facing in the opposite direction of where Bond usually is on wr runs, so he needs to walk around in a half-circle to face Bond. By being to the right of him when he spawns, he will turn to the right since that's the shorter angle to turn through.

Note that the Baron will just spin instantly without walking if he is unloaded, so you must also be looking towards that area when the 2nd Baron spawns. The 3rd Baron will always be unloaded unless you get a bad 2nd Baron death animation, and so this only applies to Baron #2.

The Golden Gun Room

All the trigger circles in the room. Note that only one colour is active on any one frame!

Retrieving the Golden Gun requires navigating a floor maze[1], though this has been slightly sidestepped by a consistent tile warp.

The triggers in the GG room are spheres, centred on points on the floor. When Bond is moving at speed he dips slightly, and so the circles that he can't enter are slightly larger. These are shown in the diagrams on the right.

Naively, stepping inside any of the circles except the green one triggers the drone guns and you've failed the room. Stepping in the green one opens the glass container and you've succeeded. They have clearly been laid out with the intention of leaving a path of square tiles for the player to find.

The 4 cycles

However the spheres are actually in 4 groups which are coloured Black, Red, Orange and Purple on the right. Each is only active for 1 in 4 frames - they cycle in that order.

On top of this, the cycling doesn't start until you clear the end of the entrance corridor into the room proper. This coupled with a stable 30hz framerate on NTSC creates the perfect environment to set up a consistent warp.

Re-entry

If you fail the room, you don't have to redo it from entrance. Instead, nip out into the big room with the 1st Baron, then quickly walk back again (don't fall down), duck, and re-enter the GG room by walking under the closing inner door. Then you can easily enter the Green circle to open the glass box.

Animation showing a successful tile warp

Tile warp

The consistent tile warp was revealed in TASpap, and involves taking an indirect line from the end of the entrance corridor up to the 1st 'wall' of triggers. This is pictured on the right, with Bond in green.

The other secret is to turn left (around the black circle), since this gives you shorter route out of the purple circle and puts you on a better line when you leave.

Further warps

The line after this first tile warp is pretty direct to the trigger circle, but hypothetically you could warp the 3rd 'wall' right before the Green success trigger, as Icy does in his Egypt Agent 0:41 TAS. On emulator the framerate fluctuates between 60 and 30fps, and the lag from weapon switches is far greater so the tile warps become a lot easier.

Technical Details

Baron

First Baron has 200 health and 200 armor, second Baron has 500 health and 1000 armor, third Baron has 500 health and 3000 armor. When first spawned, they are invincible for 5s. If Baron Samedi is active and you have him at gunpoint, he has a ~50% chance to perform a dodge (hop, roll, run, etc) instead of attacking. [2]
