William Lacey

William Lacey is a Mario Kart 64 player with several great achievements, as well as a staff member and a popular member of the kart community (placing in 3th in the 2004 Karter Contest). He has been a part of the community for a long time, and is still active on the forum where he is a moderator of the MK64 section and goes by the name "shadow".

William Lacey is well known for being the first player to reach the famous God rank in MK64. He also set a DK 3lap WR that was extremely fast for the time, more than 1.5 seconds faster than the 2nd place time. He promptly typed up a detailed strategy and later released a video. Unfortunately for him, he never managed to be world champion despite being ranked near the top for a long time. He was ranked 2nd for awhile behind Sami Cetin, who he eventually passed but not until after Michael Jongerius took a huge lead on both of them.

As a staff member, William Lacey created the matchups, profiles, and times viewer, with several interesting including the "Super Duper Magical Matchup Program Deluxe".

He later had a much shorter career in the early days of Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, where he used to have a fairly decent rank but has since fallen all the way down to 190th.
