Biography
Dan "Kirby" Peterson does not play any games that The Elite officially does (GoldenEye or Perfect Dark), although he is good friends with Perfect Dark and GoldenEye player, Ryan Koch. They have been friends since fifth grade and continue to remain very good pals. Dan has plans on buying a used Nintendo 64 (with recent events, possibly Jimbo's) with some spare cash.
Nicknames
A rarity in The Elite, NGamer has officially given Dan two different nicknames! The first one, given upon entering chat for the first time, is Curbstomp. This, as we all know from American History X, is a very painful way to severely injure, if not kill, a person. The second, given shortly after (less than a month) is Kirby, is what most people call him now.
VALVe Software
Half-Life
Dan is a big fan of Half-Life, and agrees with a small number of people that Half-Life is better than Half-Life 2. He also has played most of the major mods (Opposing Force, Blue Shift, Counter-Strike, Condition Zero, and Garry's Mod). The shortest amount of time it has taken him to beat the whole series (HL1, HL:OP, HL:BS, HL2, EP1) is two weeks.
Counter-Strike
Dan is a fairly active Counter-Strike player, and usually plays with his neighbor, Luke Conlon. Another favorite is Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, and Dan is currently working his way through the 'Hard' difficulty. He has no plans to buy Counter-Strike: Source in the future.
Web Development
Dan does lots of web development in his free time. While he can make great work with (X)HTML and CSS, he is not as good (but can still do) PHP and MySQL. As of now, he has two projects that he is currently working on, one of those being a PHP/MySQL based Photo Album for The Elite.
You can find all of his released work here: Kirby's Web Pages.
Magic: The Gathering
An avid Magic: The Gathering player since 1997 or so, his collection of cards is amazing. With a grand total of 2,175 cards that are worth $906.75 dollars, you can't deny it! While having only player in one serious tournament, he placed in the Top 8, and would have continued to play if he hadn't been out of time. Dan really looks forward to playing Magic in tournaments now, and tries to get into every one he can.
