William Lacey is well known for being the first player to reach the famous God rank in MK64. He also set a DK 3lap [[WR]] that was extremely fast for the time, more than 1.5 seconds faster than the 2nd place time. He promptly typed up a detailed strategy and later released a video. Unfortunately for him, he never managed to be world champion despite being ranked near the top for a long time. He was ranked 2nd for awhile behind [[Sami Cetin]], who he eventually passed but not until after [[Michael Jongerius]] took a huge lead on both of them.
