Serious Sam: The First Encounter
Serious Sam: The First Encounter is an FPS released in March of 2001 by Croteam for the PC. The series continued with Serious Sam: The Second Encounter.
Speed Runs
The Speed Demos Archive hosts Serious Sam competition. The current proven World Record for a complete-game SS speedrun on Serious difficulty is 53 minutes and 50 seconds, achieved by Drew "stx-Vile" DeVore in May of 2005.
Since 2014, Speedrun.com has been the go-to source for Serious Sam Speedruns. The current proven World Records are as follows.
Tourist/Easy difficulty Any% in 32 minutes and 30 seconds by Kykystat
Normal difficulty Any% in 33 minutes and 42 seconds by Uncle Steve-Pup
Serious difficulty Any% in 38 minutes and 49 seconds by Uncle Steve-Pup
Mental difficulty Any% in 37 minutes and 18 seconds by Uncle Steve-Pup
