Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is an Action/RPG released in September of 1997 by Konami for the Sony Playstation. The series continued with many titles across every major platform.
Speedrun
The Speed Demos Archive hosts Castlevania: SotN competition. The current proven World Record for a complete-game SotN speedrun is 34 minutes and 34 seconds, achieved by Chris "Satoryu" Kirk on May 15th, 2008. The record for fastest completion as Richter is 7 minutes and 14 seconds, held by Adam "Psyrell" Van't Hul.
