Karel van Duijvenboden is a Super Mario Kart player, an active forum poster (where he currently goes by "KVD"), and a news updater on the SMK non-NBT site. He is #2 on both NTSC & PAL systems. He won POY 2004, and his SMK skills have earned him the nickname "SMK machine". He is also one of the best at non-NBT, where he is ranked 2nd in PAL.
Karel also enjoy playing other games such as Pro Evolution Soccer, F-Zero X (current World rank #85), Mario Kart Super Circuit (current world rank #11) and Grand Theft Auto series.
In professional life Karel studies Medical Cell Biology at the University of Leiden and is currently in the final year of his Masters.
