Baldur's Gate is an RPG released in November of 1998 by BioWare for the PC. The series continued with many expansions and sequels, including Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn.

The Speed Demos Archive hosts Baldur's Gate competition. The current proven World Record for a complete-game BG speedrun is 30 minutes and 24 seconds, achieved by Kevin '"clone rizzo" Rizzo on January 27th, 2006. The single-segment WR is held by Julien Langer, who beat the game in 1 hour and 9 minutes on February 25th, 2005.
