[[NGC-Elites]] hosts Melee competition, while the [[SDA]] hosts the best known videos for select modes of play.

There are virtually hundreds of records achievable in SSBM's single player mode, all 25 characters can earn a best score in each of the varios play modes.  Some of these include Classic, Adventure, All-Star, Event Matches, Target Test, Home Run Contest and the various Multi-man Melee modes.  Most competition takes place on Break the Targets and the Home Run Contest.
