Metal Slug 5 is a 2D Shooter released in March of 2006 by SNK for the Playstation 2 and Microsoft Xbox. It is a re-release of the original, first seen in 2003 on the Neo-Geo and in Arcades. The series began with Metal Slug.

The Speed Demos Archive hosts Metal Slug 5 competition. The current proven World Record for a complete-game MS5 speedrun on Hard mode is 25 minutes and 38 seconds, achieved by Mike Uyama on March 9th, 2006.
