dataDyne Central: Defection is the first level in Perfect Dark. All three world record strategies on this level make use of the world-famous Defection glitch.
Agent
The world record on this level is 0:05, set on November 7, 2010 by Ilari Pekkala. It is the shortest amount of time needed to complete a level, not counting the Duel. it has sense been tied by 28 other players as of September 8, 2021
There are two ways to do the glitch: off the guard's head, and off the door.
Off the guard's head - This is the faster of the two methods. Cut the cinema immediately before the jumpship appears. Run off the edge of the helipad, crouch once while landing on the guard's head, run over the inward-opened door, and off the edge of the pipe. Uncrouch and run in midair to the space above the elevator. If you don't know how to get to the elevator, we would suggest trying the door strat first. If all went well, you'll see the magical 0:06 on your screen.
