Harvey Manhood

Harvey William Manhood (b. March 6, 1983) entered the Goldeneye rankings in October of 2000, debuting in 19th place. Along with Wouter Jansen, Jon Barber, and Greg Woll, Harvey is one of the few Wes-era Eliters to have made a major impact on the community in the post-the-elite.net era. He is widely regarded as the best British Goldeneye player ever with the initials "HM."

Rise to Glory

For his first two years Harv's only claim to fame was having the most unlikely name on the Goldeneye rankings (he was accused of being another player's alternate account a countless number of times). He would earn a batch of new times every summer and during his break from school in the winter, but never made much headway on the rankings. However, Manhood managed to turn quite a few heads in the early part of 2003, when he made a strong effort that resulted in a constant stream of PRs over the course of several months. These impressive new times (including his personal favorite, a :26/:45/:53 sweep of Depot) proved enough to achieve one of Harvey's biggest lifetime goals: a place in Goldeneye's Top Ten.

The Lake Incident

Mr. Food famously satirized "the Incident" in The Pwnion

When Harvey's stream of PRs slow to a trickle and then dried up completely later in 2003, he grew increasingly frustrated with his lack of success. Eventually this frustration boiled over in a decision to drive across town and throw his Goldeneye cartridge into a lake. Harv's goal, as he explained in a lengthy topic detailing this proud turning point in his life, was to overcome his obsession for the game and also solve the social problems it had caused in his life.

The Aftermath

"Throwing your cartridge in the lake" has become synonymous with (temporarily) retiring from competitive gaming within the Elite community. As for Harv himself, he had purchased a new copy of Goldeneye and was once again actively PRing within three months.

Elite Legacy

Outside of his many Goldeneye accomplishments, Harvey is most famous for being the biggest post-spammer in the history of the Elite's General Chat board. In the Summer of 2003, Harv became the de facto leader of Team Britain, a group of UKers who rebelled (to the tune of many one word posts, smiley-only posts, and goatse postings) against the board controls that Mr. Food and the rest of the American moderater staff attempted to apply. Manhood is also legendary for his aversion to showers; he managed to avoid them for upwards of a month at a time, and once famously bragged that all the time everyone else was wasting showering during that week, he intended to spend masturbating. In terms of his Chat personality, Harv will always be remembered as the man who was able to work either goatse or tubgirl into a conversation every 10 minutes. Each of these traits have been parodied (with resounding success!) in Food and Come's The Pwnion newspaper as well as Ngamer's The Gamer's Den talk show.

Contest Success

Harvey is one of only a handful of Eliters to have made the cut in each of the Elite's first three Summer Contests. He has appeared in three matches in his career- a blowout at the hands of Matthijs ten Ham, a resounding defeat to Peter Osterland, and a stunning doubling in going down to defeat against Sam Hughes. Based on these results, Harv is statistically the 72nd most popular Eliter in league history.

Modern Day Harv

Currently, Harvey Manhood can be found either on facebook or in bed. He hopes to be elected to The Elite Hall of Fame on the upcoming ballot, an honor which many consider a lock based on his lifetime of accomplishments.
