Pane in the Neck is the first stage of the Glass Smash series in the Challenges for [[TimeSplitters 2]].

This is one of the levels that is effected by version differences. On the NTSC version, grenades from the Soviet S47 go farther than they do on the PAL version, which allows for slightly faster times on the NTSC version. The PAL strategy can be used on the NTSC version with equal success.

== Strats ==

'''NTSC'''

1. Right at the start, turn 90 degrees to the left and shoot a grenade to the far building. To make sure you get all four of the panes, you have to keep a pretty low angle. The grenade should be aimed only slightly above the wall in front of you, else it won't reach the doorpane at all. This shot is very inconsistent, as almost always only three of the four panes are taken out, but it is needed for a very fast time.

2. Now shoot a grenade over the building in front, so that it takes out all four panes. 

3. Turn and walk up the stairs, while you shoot a grenade through the right pane of the top row of the big building. The grenade can destroy all of the ten panes of the building, however the odds of destroying them all are very low.

4. Quickly shoot a grenade over the big building, so that it destroys the panes of the small building. This shot isn't easy, because if you aim too high, it doesn't destroy the farthest pane and if your angle is too low, it doesn't destroy the doorpane.

In order to complete this strategy, you will have to try this many times, as three of the four shots are inconsistent. This makes the strat somewhat luck dependant.

1. Shoot a grenade over the building that is the nearest to you. This will very likely blow up the three panes on the side of the building. The doorpane will be destroyed later on.

2. Turn and shoot a grenade in the direction of the six panes of the big building. It doesn't really matter where you shoot. As long as you shoot it in that area, all of the panes on the front will be destroyed.

3. Shoot a grenade through the right pane of the top row of the big building, so it takes out the remaining four panes. This shot gets easy after some practice and should work almost every time.

4. Aim up and shoot a grenade over the big building to the small building. Again, don't aim too high or too low, or it will destroy only three panes.

5. Shoot a grenade over the remaining building. You'll have to practice a bit with the angle, else only three panes will be destroyed. If your angle is too low, one of the three panes on the side won't be destroyed. If your angle is too high, the doorpane won't be destroyed. This shot determines your final time, so make sure you shoot as fast as possible.

6. To finish, shoot a grenade through the doorpane of the first building. This is not the final pane, so don't worry about being a bit slow.

Overall this strategy is not really luck dependant, as the only inconsistent shots are the shot that destroys the panes of the smallest building (though it isn't that inconsistent) and the shot that takes care of the panes of the remaining building at the end.
