Joe Bernier bursted onto the [[Super Mario Kart]] scene in April of 2005. With his lightning fast reflexes, he was able to use New Boosting Techniques very early in his career, launching him into the top 10 within a couple months. By June of 2005, he had already achieved his first World Record at Donut Plains 1. By the end of the summer of 2005, he was in contention for the NTSC World Championship, a title he would eventually gain and hold until the end of 2005.
