Thingy found the message boards an interesting aspect of the Mario Kart Players' Pages from day one.  He joined the message board in July 2006, and now has over 2500 posts.  He claims to have read every single post in General, MKDD, Board Problems, MKW, and the Karter Contest 2k6 and 2k8 sections of the forum made since he joined.  Others have called him a "networker," reflecting his large amount of instant messaging contacts related to the MK sites.

Thingy also found out there was an IRC channel for the Mario Kart community soon after joining.  He first figured out how to join in August 2006.  Thingy has been among the most active typists there since he first joined, with over 100,000 lines.  He worked for months trying to raise attendance for the IRC channel, making forum topics and trying other methods like just messaging people.  Finally he succeeded in April 2008, by putting up a [http://irc.wrvids.com Java IRC client]!  This increased membership greatly, and allowed many new people to visit.  The page is often still used for weekly Mario Kart Wii tournaments as a central hub to organize each event.

Thingy played [[Drew Blumfield|Duff]]'s IRC trivia bot an insane amount for over a year.  He had the highest cumulative score for quite some time, until he lost interest.  He also mastered [[Robin Usher]]'s Mario Kart Trivia Bot, being the first to reach 10,000 points.

Thingy reads the kart boards frequently.  He helped with the Karter Contest 2K10.  In addition he has completed several small projects to help the board/community.

Thingy first joined The Elite's AIM Chat in 2007, but didn't become a regular visitor until early 2008.  He made it into The Elite's 2008 summer contest as a member of the short bus play-in match, but was eliminated by a narrow margin.  He loves asking ridiculous questions in the AIM chat, and enjoys all the activities.  Thingy tries his hardest every night in [[2008 First Vote|First Vote]], and loves to play [[KotH]] when a round is on.

Thingy's a big Elite chatter, racking up the most lines in the year 2009.  Other than chat he doesn't do much.  He's attended two VA Meets.
