This changed in 2008, which showed an influx of competitors from outside of France; the [http://www.championnat-smk.org/ CDF] would therefore be known as CDE from that year onwards; CDE being an abbreviation of Championnat d’Europe, meaning Championship of Europe in English. In 2009 the final evolution of the event took place and CDE became CDM, being an abbreviation of Championnat du Monde, meaning World Championship in English.
