When he decided to spend a lot of his (lot of) free time on time trialing at the start of 2007, he quickly climbed up the charts, getting in top 10 at the start of 2008. After that strong period, he didn't play as much as before because meanwhile he started to attend a school that takes more than 1 minute each day of homework, but still managed to get good PRs to keep his position. He is currently ranked #11.

Nicola has also played other Mario Karts; he played [[Mario Kart 64]], [[Mario Kart Super Circuit]], [[Mario Kart Double Dash!!]] and [[Mario Kart Wii]] for some weeks, but he never decided to try to get strong on these games as well.
